The Construction Manager’s Toolkit

This is a series of toolbox talks and checklists to help Managers in the Construction industry manage on-site risks and health hazards.

Toolbox Talks and Visual Standards

These will form a concise summary of the health hazards arising from the construction industry and how the Breathe Freely campaign aims to address them.

Visual standards demonstrate ‘what good looks like’. They are intended to reinforce expectations of health and safety standards.

Site Checklists

These checklists will help you on site in managing workplace health risks in relation to the following:

  • Lead
  • Asbestos
  • Silica

They will help you to pinpoint weaknesses and give tips on things you need to be aware of or have in place.

How to use the checklists

Each checklist consists of a list of questions, a “help” column and sections for you to record your answers/notes and actions.

The “help” section is two-fold. It contains comments to give more information about the questions. These comments can also be hidden *to show hyperlinks underneath. Click on any of these links and they will take you to more useful guidance.
